Link₂O Revamp
My role
FreshinUp was hired by Pentair’s Pump Division in 2017 to redesign the user interface for Link2O, an IoT platform that allowed end-users to control and monitor a particular line of smart devices (IntelliDrive, a water pump and BBU, a backup sump pump system) from a website.
I was held responsible for studying the existing version of the platform and suggest visual and usability improvements, creating a multi-platform mobile application. But we delivered more than that.
The admin dashboard
Allowing users to monitor and control those devices from anywhere not only was putting Pentair further ahead of its competitors but also reinforcing its position as an innovative and pioneer company in the water industry.
But behind every successful end-user product interface is a back-office platform. We have created a dashboard that allowed Pentair to:
• Deliver and target content to end-users
• Handle support tickets
• Gather application and product usage
• Gather dealer and end-user data
The first version of the admin dashboard we created allowed Pentair to crunch data generated from these connected devices and users and get important business and marketing insights.
The results
The project brought the attention of other Pentair divisions. And the company asked us to work on designs for other smart devices such as:
• Pool lights
• Heaters
• Robotic Pool Cleaners
• Water Filtration systems
